William Henry Scott is a retired lay missionary of the Episcopal church with 30 years' teaching experience in the Philippines. Sometimes Principal of St. Mary's School, Sagada, and Director of Aglipay Institute, Laoag, he taught Philippine history in the University of the Philippines for ten years, and was Professor of Church History in St. Andrew's Theological Seminary at the time of his retirement in 1986. He holds a BA from yale, MA from Columbia, and PhD from the University of Santo Tomas, and is a regular contributor to scholarly journals here and abroad.
